Enjoy tourism in nature

La Roche-Canillac is a French village located in the Corrèze department of the Limousin region. It is part of the Doustre and Plateau des Étangs community. Made up of la Roche Haute, close to the plateau and Doustre gorges, and la Roche Basse, clinging to these gorges, this cantonal town oversees the Doustre valley, with its steep woody slopes. The town is 3.12 square km and its inhabitants, the “Cannillacois” numbered 168 in 2012, year of the last census.

The Doustre and Plateau des Étangs community is nested at the heart of Corrèze, at an altitude of between 200 and 600 meters, about 30 minutes away from Cantal or Lot.

Composed of 7 villages (Champagnac-la-Prune, Clergoux, Gros-Chastang, Gumont, la Roche-Canillac, Saint-Bazile-de-la-Roche, Saint-Pardoux-la-Croisille) between Tulle and Argentat, the community is spread around 20 kilometers, half of which is parrallel to the Dordogne gorges. Its territory is of exceptional environmental and patrimonial quality. It showcases an impressively varied scenery: varied tree species (oak, pine, beech, chestnut…), bovine and ovine prairies, ponds and rivers (Doustre and Dordogne) as well as reliefs going from gentle slopes on the plateau to the steep faces of the gorges. Its rich real estate heritage and authentic nature can be discovered on foot, horseback or bicycle.
